Usually, I post a quotation or two. But each Bible verse I read this morning dealt with wisdom, a beautiful, Godly trait that I crave more of everyday. I have also spoken to a few people lately who have been desiring the same thing...more wisdom. More Godly wisdom.
It occurred to me that we could begin a challenge, as a community. How do you all feel about this? For the next twenty-one days, let's give ourselves a Scriptural remember about what it is to be wise. I challenge you to write this verse on a notecard and carry it with you, tape it to your bathroom mirror, or tuck it inside your Bible:
"For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice. But the wisdom of heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. Peacemakers who sow in peace raise a harvest of righteousness."
James 3:16-18
Would you take this challenge with me? Every time you encounter a decision, one that stops you in your tracks, take a glance at God's word to you from James and ask: Is this wise? They say it takes twenty-one days to make a habit, so let us commit to making wisdom a deeply ingrained, Spirit-led habit!
Here is my reminder card:
For more quotations on wisdom, read Proverbs 13 and 14. Both chapters are full of verses that speak into what makes a wise person.
If you will commit to writing this verse down and keeping it close for the next twenty-one days, will you let me know in the comments below? Let's make the journey together to becoming more wise women of God!
