As in my present time, I am beginning to think this is so. However, I am simultaneous inclined to believe that God knows best and I do not. And I absolutely think this is His precise point!
When difficult, unclear, or slow-moving circumstances arise in our lives, the Lord will do everything it takes to get our eyes off the circumstances and on to His face. Instead of worshipping ideal circumstances or situations, He will teach us to worship Him.
He does not want us to "put on face" and pretend all is well. He merely wants us to run to the source of life, itself, for fullness--and not to a self-created solution. Consider the Psalmist here:
"But I call to God, and the Lord saves me. Evening, morning, and noon I cry out in distress, and He hears my voice. He ransoms me unharmed from the battle waged against me, even though many oppose me..." (55:16-17)
Suddenly, it is God who gives us pure delight, God who saves, and God who brings fulfillment--not receiving answers. The Lord will teach us to reframe our thinking, and instead of dwelling on the "facts", we will dwell on His presence and goodness.
Today, if you encounter difficult circumstances or unknown details, may you find your ultimate source of joy and fulfillment in worshiping the Lord! May His face be most important to your well-being and joy.
How else can difficult seasons draw us near to God?

ReplyDeleteThank you for this great message. I am in a place of waiting and in this place God is teaching me to die to self because the need of His children never ends. As one called to minister, edify, encourage and empower His daughters as they discover, embrace, celebrate and live who they are in Him, I must remember that this is His ministry, not mine and it will be done His way.
ReplyDeleteThank you for reminding me to simply worship Him.
Be blessed,
Monica
