Last week's Friday Funday post was about the importance of being aware of your core values. Did you do the values exercise? What did you find?
Today, I wanted to us to talk about PASSION! Pure, fiery, engaging, uniquely-yours passion.
I love this quotation by Harold Whitman:
"Don't ask yourself what the world needs; ask yourself what makes you come alive. Then go do that because the world needs people who have come alive."
What makes you come alive?
A friend of mine recently brought up the movie Chariots of Fire, in which the protagonist (a runner) says, "When I run, I feel God's pleasure."
Fill in the blank: "When I ________, I feel God's pleasure."
Three more tips for honing in on your passion:
ONE: Ask someone who knows you intimately to define what you are passionate able.
TWO: Ask your parents, "When I was young, and you could not find me, what did you assume I was doing?"
THREE: What were the moments in your life when you felt genuinely excited and alive?
FOUR: Pray, read the Word of God, and ask Him to light your fire with a unique passion!
What are your passions? What lights your fire?
