Featured Cause: Girls on the Run

One of my good friends is working for Girls on the Run this summer, and she was bursting with excitement telling me about their mission: We inspire girls to be joyful, healthy, and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.

The idea sprang to life in 1993, when founder Molly Barker took her evening run: "...after years of questioning her self-worth and self-image, Molly found the inspiration that grew into Girls on the Run" (courtesy of website, emphasis mine).

I love how self-worth and self-image are built upon in healthy ways through the activities this program offers!

Check out their website here, and look out for 5K races in your neighborhood!

  1. The 5k races are some of the most powerful events I have ever been to. It is wonderful to see girls accomplishing their goals!
