I am sitting here in a Starbucks, researching, reading, and making phone calls. I glance out the expansive window before me, catching a picturesque view of the city: sunny, vast, and teeming with possibility. Sure, the beautiful 70-degree weather makes the city seem that much better; but what a place to live, for such a time as this! I consider for what the Lord has me living here, but the essence of that question is too much for me to handle. There are days when I wish I could leave, travel to the suburbs or the country, and get outside the bubble of urban life. But then there are also days when I look up at the sky, at the wonder around me, and think, "How grateful I am for this place!". What has most impacted you about your hometown, or the place you find yourself most often?
Similar thoughts have been welling up inside of me lately! I will soon embark upon that new ship known as "marriage" and leave the home where I grew up! Knowing we'll be just a few towns away is a comfort, but I will surely have days when I miss sitting at my kitchen table on a lazy Saturday morning with my family, or chillin and talking on the couch with Mom. However, I know that the Lord is good and to be praised, and the new adventures that lay ahead for my fiance and I will be for His glory. My prayer is to be content in all circumstances. How grateful I have been for this house, and my new home to come!
